Forecasters are watching two tropical disturbances as they develop into depressions over the next couple of days, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The first system is located near the Florida coast as it moves north to the northeast near Sebastian. The weather system is disorganized at this time and stretches from Florida to the Bahamas. Tropical Storm watches are NOT anticipated for Sebastian or Florida.

Sebastian can expect cloudy skies and some rain from this storm system as it moves north in the Atlantic. The rain chance from this storm has decreased since Friday. However, the system can make boating conditions hazardous for the river and at the Sebastian Inlet.

The second tropical system that is showing some concerns is located about 950 miles east of the Windward Islands and showing some signs of organization.

“Environmental conditions appear conducive for additional development, and a tropical depression is likely to form during the next day or two while the low moves westward to west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph,” according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

However, NOAA says that development appears to be less favorable once the storm reaches the Lesser Antilles and eastern Caribbean Sea.

“Conditions appear less favorable for development when the low reaches the Lesser Antilles and eastern Caribbean Sea by the middle of next week,” NOAA said in a statement.

Sebastian Daily will continue to provide updates as NOAA, and the National Hurricane Center provide information.

On Thursday, NOAA said there will be an above-normal 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
