A 22-year-old Palm Bay man was killed Wednesday at the intersection of Main Street and U.S. Highway 1 in Micco, Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 74-year-old man driving a red Toyota Tundra was stopped at the stop sign on Main Street and U.S. Highway 1, the intersection leading into Little Hollywood.

The driver of the truck then pulled forward onto U.S. Highway 1 to initiate a left turn and collided with a motorcycle that was traveling southbound. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

“The motorcyclist was transported to Sebastian River Medical Center, where he expired,” the FHP said.

The crash is still under investigation.

Traffic was backed up from Micco to Malabar, where FHP was detouring motorists from I-95 because of another fatal accident.
