Micco Man Killed in Early Morning Crash, Passenger Critically Injured

A 52-year-old man was killed and his passenger was left in critical condition at the Sebastian River Medical Center after their vehicle lost control on Thursday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) told Sebastian Daily that the two people were in their 2022 Cadillac sports utility vehicle when it veered off the roadway and flipped into a ditch on Fleming Grant Road near the Thompson Road intersection in Micco.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 1:50 a.m. as the SUV was heading southbound on Fleming Grant Road when it left the roadway and crashed.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported the driver to Sebastian River Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger, a 46-year-old woman, was also taken to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.

The identities of both the driver and passenger have not been released. The FHP stated that the investigation is still ongoing.
