Mo-Bay Grill in Sebastian practicing safety measures, offering great food

Mo-Bay Grill Lunch review

We are still making our rounds to local restaurants in Sebastian and decided to stop by Mo-Bay Grill. They are practicing COVID-19 safety measures, wearing a mask, and disinfecting all tables and menus.

It was our first visit back to Mo-Bay Grill since our dinner review in January 2020. They still have the same menu with lots of spectacular choices.

One of us ordered from their lunch menu and the other ordered from the regular menu for this visit.

Chef Wesley Campbell told me years ago to “close my eyes and point to anything on the menu because it’s all good,” and he’s right. It can be hard to decide at times.

The first thing I ordered was their soup of the day, which was Louisiana Seafood. It’s a bisque-style soup loaded with great seafood, and it had a slight kick. It’s moderate on the spicy side, which was good.

We recommend this soup, but be careful, you might want another cup. It’s that tasty.

For lunch, the one menu item that got my attention was the Monte Cristo Sandwich with ham, apple, and swiss cheese. I can’t remember the last time I had a Monte Cristo, so that is what I chose.

Wow, what a sandwich! You get a lot of food for $9.99, with french fries and a large sandwich. The apples give it a sweet taste, and it’s a great combination with the ham & cheese.

The Monte Cristo was not greasy at all, and it was cooked to perfection. We highly recommend this sandwich.

My wife ordered the Blacked Grouper Sandwich from the regular menu. The fish was rubbed with spices, marinated, and then grilled to perfection. It was topped with sweet onion sauce and served on a kaiser roll.

The sweet onion sauce was so good we used it as a dipping sauce for our french fries. The $13.99 sandwich comes with two sides. She chose a cucumber salad and fries. If you like grouper, you’ll love this well-seasoned sandwich.

When we were finished with lunch, our waitress asked if we saved any room for dessert. I then remembered the dessert from our previous visit.

You can’t go wrong with Chef Wesley Campbell’s desserts. Besides the cheesecake during our Capt’n Butchers review, we believe Mo-Bay has the best Banana Cheesecake topped with rum.

Wow, we don’t know where to begin with this one. The warm bananas with the cheesecake, topped with the rum, was perfect. My wife and I shared this dessert, but it wasn’t easy.

Maybe next time we’ll get two desserts, and maybe one to go. You won’t be disappointed with this restaurant.
