Lorraine Mendes (Hingston), 71, of Sebastian, FL, joined hands with the Lord on May 22, 2021, after spending her final days surrounded by her loving sisters. Born in Tewksbury, MA, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Leonard and Evelyn Hingston. Lorraine is predeceased by her husband, Antonio Mendes.
Lorraine was a member of the Indian River County Ancient Order of Hibernians in FL, the Saint Sebastian’s Women’s Guild, and was a devout Catholic. She was a kind soul, always there to help those in need.
Lorraine is survived by her stepchildren and their spouses: Christine O’Donnell (John), Ed Mendes (Mary), and Tony Mendes (Traci); four sisters and their spouses, Shirley Hingston (James-deceased), Maureen Strahan (Bill), Beth Brewer (Frank), and Marie Gamache (Peter); six step-grandchildren whom she adored, Orion, Olivia, TJ, Lily, Joshua, and Benjamin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
An 11:00 am funeral mass will be held on June 19, 2021, at St. Kathryn’s Church in Hudson, NH. In lieu of flowers, per Lorraine’s request, donations may be made to either of the following:
