It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother, Barbara J. Vose (Spielman), on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
Barbara was born and raised in Putnam, CT, and is the child of the late John Spielman and Mary Bishop (Spielman). Barbara also had a younger brother, John Spielman, who passed several years ago.
Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Nelson Vose, in September 1963 until Nelson passed in 2017. Barbara was a full-time homemaker and followed Nelson all over the country and world during his working years in aerospace for Pratt & Whitney. They lived in Wichita, Kansas; Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Singapore. They finally retired in Sebastian, Florida, in 2000.
Barbara loved interior design, and many would say her home resembled a designer model home which could easy be published in magazines.
Barbara and Nelson had two sons, David of Willington CT, and Mark (Don Canalejo) of Key West.
They had one very special grandson, Ryan of Tolland, CT, David’s son.
In the last few years after Nelson’s passing Barbara sold their retirement home in Sebastian and moved to Key West to live with her younger son Mark, where she lived until her passing.
Barbara will be laid to rest by her husband Nelson’s side in the town of Sebastian, Florida, cemetery.
