Senior Resource Association now offers no-cost, life alert devices to eligible seniors in Indian River County to support senior safety at home and enhance caregiver peace of mind.
In partnership with leading home security company ADT, Senior Resource Association offers community-based electronic surveillance to monitor frail homebound seniors who otherwise might be unable to remain in their own homes.
Nearly 14,000 Indian River County seniors live alone, and approximately 4,000 older residents’ annual income falls below the federal poverty level.
Presently, 33% of Indian River County residents are over age 65, compared to the state figure of 21% — and the number continues to grow.
Presently, only 167 Indian River County seniors are registered through Community Care for the Elderly (CCE), waiting to receive this potentially life-saving emergency alert service. With the support from the Indian River Hospital District, SRA will expand its existing Emergency Alert Response Program to allow seniors at risk to enroll in a community program that brings emergency alert response services to those in greatest need.

The ADT system offers seniors access 24/7/365 to live monitoring, fall detection, and home temperature monitoring provided by trained professionals.
