A 24-year-old resident of Sebastian, Abel Guan Marcano, was arrested last Thursday and charged with Aggravated Manslaughter of a Child.
Marcano, who resides in the 100 block of Cardinal Drive in Sebastian, is currently being held at the Indian River County Jail on a $2 million bond.
The arrest warrant alleges that Marcano, who served as a caregiver, is responsible for the tragic death of a child due to a failure to provide adequate care.
According to court documents, Marcano allegedly neglected to offer the necessary care, supervision, and essential services required to maintain the child’s physical and mental well-being.
Furthermore, it is alleged that Marcano did not make reasonable efforts to protect the child from abuse, neglect, or exploitation by others, ultimately resulting in the child’s death.
