Emergency Relief Fund Activated in Response to Hurricane Milton

Hurricane Milton

Hurricane Milton

In the wake of Hurricane Milton, United Way of Indian River County has launched the Disaster Recovery Fund to provide support to communities affected by the storm.

As part of United Way’s ongoing commitment to building resilient, equitable communities, the Disaster Response and Recovery Fund will help our local United Way meet urgent storm-related needs and aid in the long-term recovery process across the hardest-hit regions.

“Our community has been hurt by Hurricane Milton and our hearts are heavy to see the damage,” said Meredith Egan, CEO of United Way of Indian River County. “This fund allows us to unite resources and respond quickly, ensuring that those in need receive the critical support required to rebuild their lives.”

To donate to the United Way of Indian River Disaster Recovery Fund or to contribute directly to an impacted local United Way, please visit www.unitedwayirc.org. 100% of donations will go toward relief efforts, and any unspent funds will be reserved for future disaster relief.

“Indian River is known for their generosity and willingness to help in times of crisis,” said Egan. “Every donation, big or small, can make a significant impact in restoring these communities.”
