The St. Sebastian Catholic Church, in partnership with the Knights of Columbus Council 8009, will host a Blue Mass on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 4:00 pm.
This solemn event is a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women who protect and serve our communities.
The Blue Mass is a special ceremony that honors and prays for all public safety personnel, including police officers, firefighters, 911 communicators/dispatchers, and other emergency and safety officials. It is a time to acknowledge the sacrifices made by these heroes, especially those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
This event is open to people of all faiths, and they are encouraged to attend and show their support for our local heroes. All active and retired public safety personnel from Indian River and Brevard Counties are invited.
Following the Mass, a fellowship gathering will be held in LaSage Hall. This is an opportunity for everyone to connect, share stories, and enjoy refreshments.
The Blue Coat Awards will also be presented during this time, recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to public safety.
Everyone is invited to join the awards to honor those who risk their lives every day to keep our communities safe. The Blue Mass is a chance for people to express their gratitude and show support for these brave men and women.
