We expect the numbers to go up, but health officials say there are 3 confirmed coronavirus cases in Sebastian, Florida.
There are 49 cases in Indian River County, Florida. 6 patients are non-residents. Brevard County, our neighbor to the north, now has 65 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
The Indian River County patients are 29 men and 20 women between the ages of 8 to 84. There are 8 people hospitalized, and no deaths.
About 505 people tested negative in Indian River County.
Cleveland Clinic, Indian River Hospital, is providing drive-through testing by appointments from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week. To make an appointment, call the hospital at 772-226-4846.
The number of cases are going up, but like we said during our live newscast, we expected this (visit our Sebastian Daily Youtube Channel to keep up with newscasts).
Florida
The big concern right now is the state of Florida. The daily cases are soaring steadily.
Florida now has 9,585 total cases (9,248 are residents, 337 are non-Florida residents), and there have been 163 deaths. Over 1,215 people are hospitalized in the state. About 82,137 people have tested negative in Florida.

- 3/26 – 546 cases
- 3/27 – 678 cases
- 3/28 – 737 cases
- 3/29 – 903 cases
- 3/30 – 875 cases

- 4/2 – 1,300 cases
- 4/3 – 1,300 cases
So far, the new cases in Florida peaked on Thursday and Friday.
United States
According to numbers by the CDC, there are 278,568 cases, and there have been 7,163 deaths.
The number of people recovering from the virus is 9,920 in the United States (almost doubled since yesterday).
Global
Around the world, there are 1,140,327 cases of coronavirus and over 60,887 people have died. Approximately 233,930 people have recovered from the virus worldwide.
Sebastian
All County-operated playgrounds, along with those operated by the cities of Vero Beach, Sebastian, and Fellsmere, will be closed effective 8:00 a.m. Monday until further notice. However, all parks and conservation areas will remain open, as well as restroom facilities located at those parks and conservation areas.
Right now there are still 3 coronavirus cases in Sebastian. We expect this number to go up. Please follow the CDC guidelines and stay home.
